Hanging Christmas Photography

During the Christmas season swap some of your regular artwork on the walls for some festive photography. You can either take pictures yourself or find some on the internet or boutiques. I have found lot's of great photos on Getty Images. Type in keywords such as Christmas or Holidays. Google images works well too. After you find some great photos get them professionally developed and then add to frames and hang :)

The following are some of my favourite Christmas photos that I would love to frame.

Great Last Minute Christmas Decorations

To make, pour Epsom salts onto a flat surface. Sprinkle in glitter, then mix. Apply a layer of decoupage adhesive to the candle sides using a paintbrush or foam brush. Keep glue away from the top and top edge of the candle so salts and glitter stay clear of the flame. While wet, lay the candle in the mix of salts and glitter. Lift, rotate, and set the candle back in the faux snow until all sides are covered. When dry, arrange as a centerpiece on a tray covered in fake flakes.

This craft is so easy and looks amazing!! To achieve the pinecone flower shapes, cut straight through a pinecone with pruners. (One pinecone yields multiple blooms.) Paint the petals white using acrylic paint. When dry, write guests' names on leave cut from green cardstock, and slide the leaves between the petals. Place a pinecone flower on the rim of a glass at each place setting.

Using Christmas cards you receive makes this craft cost efficient and easy. If you can't find mini red clothes pins, you should spray paint them red in a well ventilated area first. Then position tension rod in window. Cut ribbon lengths 1 1/2 times as long as distance from rod to windowsill. Loop ribbon over the rod and secure about 1 to 2 inches down the back side of ribbon, you can you a hot glue gun. Add rickrack and thin ribbon in between ribbons with cards on them. Now all you have to do is clip on your Christmas cards!

Use an antique jar and fill with water, some greenery, and cranberries. All you need now is a lit floating candle. This DIY looks great as small centre pieces of a Christmas dining table.

I love this easy amazing decoration! Spray-paint a bare branch white. When dry, make it a perch for clip-on songbirds (available at crafts stores). Place removable adhesive hooks on the ceiling, then hang the branch above your table using two ropes. Tie hanging tea-lights or votive holders from the branch using fishing line.

My Favourite Christmas Rooms

The large white bows are so dramatic and create a lovely garland going up the stairs. It's simple but effective. This staircase is sure to please anyone who sees it!

Love all the accents of red with the bright green coloured bedspread. And of course the puppies are cute too!

Country Living

This room is absolutely gorgeous! The Christmas decor in this space is quite subtle but you still get a winter holiday feeling. Small wreaths, little gift boxes with matching ribbon to the colours in the room, and a table top tree are all this room needs to make it perfect!

Country Living

Red accent pillows and a throw blanket work perfectly in this room. Of course the tree and wreath add the greenery to make this room the ultimate family room to enjoy lot's of festivities to come over the holidays!

Mini Tree Inspiration

White pillar white, placed on a silver tray, add elegance to a windowsill. Two faux dwarf evergreens, wrapped in burlap, add a bit of colour to the wintry scene.

If your really on a tight budget this is a creative inexpensive way to create a festive table in a small space. Add an old twig that has a little greenery still on it, then deck with paper or homemade ornaments. Surround the tree with antique jars filled with yummy candy!

Easy Do It Yourself Holiday Decor

BHG

This easy decorating idea can be custom to your space. Choose the colour scheme and size of canvases. Then you can paint the canvas or pull fabric over and staple to wood on back on canvas. The ribbon can then be applied and also stapled on back or buy the ribbon that is adhesive.

H&H

Use chairs to decorate, place festive boxes and items on them.

The red ornaments make a great add on to these planters!

Velvet ribbon and greenery are a subtle Christmas touch you can add to your home with barely any effort at all. A rich red colour would be an amazing choice as well.
